Wyoming Seminary seeks a Part-Time School Nurse (evenings) to provide health services to students, faculty, and staff during after-school hours. This work also includes administering medication as needed and being available in the event of illness and emergencies. The nurse may also at times be responsible for coordinating care with the school doctor, athletic trainers, local public health department, and medical providers, while also providing effective communication with families.

This role is a part-time, 10-month, hourly position. Hours are 3:30 to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 3:30 to 6 p.m. Friday. The nurse is also on-call every other weekend and paid for three hours each weekend while on call. Rates are $22.50 per hour LPN, $25 per hour RN.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Serves as an on-campus first responder for all medical emergencies
• Provides medical assessments and care of students, Grades 9 through Postgraduate
• Electronically documents daily assessment and care provided, via Magnus Health
• Refers and occasionally transports students to the school physician and/or local providers for treatment of acute illness and injury
• Acts in Loco Parentis for all boarding students and accompanies them to the emergency or surgery departments, as needed, in absence of a parent or guardian; works with the administrator on duty to coordinate additional coverage
• Communicates with parents regarding all illness and injury, advising protocol as necessary
• Administers prescription and OTC medication as necessary
• Assists school counselors with management of students in acute distress
• Other duties as assigned or delegated by the charge nurse

Qualifications and Skills:

• Current Pennsylvania RN or LPN license
• Able to obtain all Pennsylvania-required clearances for work in a school setting and has a valid PA driver's license
• Past medical surgical, public health or pediatric experience preferred
• Current Red Cross or American Heart Association CPR/Basic Life Support certification
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to be flexible and adapt to the changing demands of a school population
• Proficient verbal and writing skills to facilitate communication with parents
• Able to stand or sit at a computer for extended periods
• Able to climb up to four flights of stairs as needed and ambulate quickly across a 25-acre campus with multiple administrative, academic, and athletic facilities

Wyoming Seminary seeks Full-Time and Part-Time Critical Response Officers to maintain the safety and security of the students, school staff, and the facility. The Critical Response Officers will check the identity of all visitors when coming on campus and facilitate guidance for students, parents, and visitors. This position reports to the Wyoming Seminary Director of Security.

Work may be performed outside in seasonal temperatures, as well as inside buildings. Work will be performed primarily on a split shift. Scheduling flexibility and weekend availability are required.

Main duties of the position include ensuring security for school operations and special events; ensuring that campus facilities and school community members are secure; and keeping alert for people with unusual behaviors and attitudes around campus.

Requirements:

• Work requires considerable physical effort or manual dexterity

Qualifications:

• Qualification as a police officer or security guard, or has served in the military
• Prior experience for at least three years as a police officer/security/military employee is required
• Act 235 certification
• Understands campus security needs
• Possesses knowledge of using campus security systems
• High school diploma or GED required
• Valid Pennsylvania driver's license
• NASRO training is a plus
• Must be able to pass background checks

Wyoming Seminary seeks an energetic candidate with a thorough knowledge of baseball, skill development, and coaching techniques to fill our vacant Head Baseball Coach position at the Upper School campus in Kingston.

The head coach is responsible for providing leadership and direction to all facets of the baseball program in advancing the mission of Wyoming Seminary and the Athletic Department.

Specific areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to: sport-specific coaching, student-athlete development, program administration, and program advancement yielding agreed-upon results. All activities shall be conducted within the policies and resource framework of Wyoming Seminary, the Athletic Department, and Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) rules and regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Serves as the Head Baseball Coach in all aspects of the program
• Communicates with student-athletes, assistant coaches, and Athletic Department staff members in a positive, timely, and effective manner
• Coordinates and plans practices, training sessions, team and individual conditioning, lineups, and competitive strategies
• Instructs and demonstrates techniques and sport-specific skills
• Demonstrates good sportsmanship and ethical behavior at all times
• Works closely with Athletic Training and Health Services staff members for care, prevention, and rehabilitation of athletic-related injuries; also supports the overall drug and alcohol education program for student-athletes

Wyoming Seminary College Preparatory School seeks an adjunct, part-time Assistant Girls Wrestling Coach.

The Assistant Girls Wrestling Coach reports directly to the Head Girls Wrestling Coach and is responsible for assisting the head coach with organizing the wrestling program with conducting practices, motivating students, and instructing student-athletes in strategies and techniques. As a member of the Athletic Department, the successful candidate should be deeply committed to the entire student-athlete experience. While this is a part-time position, it can be combined with other open positions on campus. There is the possibility of on-campus housing in exchange for supervision in the dormitory.

Responsibilities:

• Complies fully with all USA Wrestling, National Prep, and Wyoming Seminary rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Assists the head coach in the development of a competitively successful wrestling team to represent Wyoming Seminary positively and responsibly.

Wyoming Seminary seeks an Assistant Athletic Trainer and Health Teacher who works in close partnership with other athletic trainers, the athletic department, parents, and other essential healthcare providers to provide evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries. Reporting directly to the Head Athletic Trainer and Athletic Director, the Assistant Athletic Trainer is present during practice sessions and contests to act as a first responder supporting student-athletes.

Responsibilities:

• Works under the direct supervision of the Head Athletic Trainer and under the direction of standing orders while implementing the following:
  • Management of acute injury or illness to athlete
  • Rehabilitation procedures
  • Operation of therapeutic devices and equipment
  • Application of braces, guards, tape, and other devices
  • Referrals to the physician, health services, or hospital
  • Maintains appropriate documentation for student injuries and treatment per professional and regulatory standards
• Multitasks and prioritizes student needs and program responsibilities in an organized and timely manner
• Communicates effectively in high-pressure situations when talking to coaches, patients, medical professionals, staff, and families
• Assists with transporting boarding students to medical appointments
• Teaches 1-2 sections of health per term in collaboration with the Director of Health Services

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Athletic Training and must be certified by the National Athletic Trainers’ Association Board of Certification
• Athletic Training Licensure from the state of Pennsylvania
• Professional Rescuer CPR/AED certified
• Required to complete Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

Wyoming Seminary seeks a Rowing Coach for Grades 9 through postgraduate student-athletes, starting immediately. The coach will be responsible for providing leadership and direction to all facets of the rowing program in advancing the mission of Wyoming Seminary and the Athletic Department. The coach will report directly to the Associate Director of Athletics and the Athletic Department. This is a part-time position in itself but can be paired with other campus openings if opportunities arise.

Wyoming Seminary's rowing program is a member of the Philadelphia Scholastic Rowing Association (PSRA), competing in sculling events at scholastic regattas in Philadelphia and New Jersey. Specific areas of responsibility include on- and off-water rowing-specific coaching, recruitment, student-athlete development, program administration, and program advancement. All activities shall be conducted within the policies and resource framework of Wyoming Seminary, the Athletic Department, and National Federation of High Schools (NFHS).

Responsibilities:

• Schedules regattas with the Athletic Department
• Partners with the Admission Office to recruit mission-appropriate applicants 
• Oversees the development and progress of each student-athlete
• Communicates regularly and clearly with parents about program expectations, culture, practice schedules, etc. 
• Collaborates with the Director of Athletics and Athletic Department colleagues, Upper and Lower School faculty and staff, and the broader school community
• Oversees school rowing equipment and assists in maintaining club facilities and equipment (boats, oars, rowing machines, launches, trailer)
• Potential for teaching on a part-time basis
